Deena Katz,CFP®, has been called upon by global financial services organisations to speak at international financial forums held in various locations including Australia, Canada, Japan, England, India, Ireland, Singapore, New Zealand, Malaysia, and South Africa. She has written six books on financial planning and practice management topics, served as editor-in-chief of the Journal of Retirement Planning, and has been a contributing writer for Financial Advisor, Investment Advisor, Financial Planning magazine, and National Underwriter.
Deena is a past member of the National Board of Directors of the Financial Planning Association, a past member of the Board of Trustees for the Foundation for Financial Planning, and for 2009-10 served as an advisor to the Comptroller of the State of Texas on their college funding plans. In 2009, She testified before the Senate Committee on Aging regarding “Boomer Bust: Securing Retirement in a Volatile Economy.” She received her Bachelor’s and Doctorate of Humane Letters from Adrian College, where she was the recipient of the Young Alumni Achievement Award.
- 2016 – Deena was awarded the Alexandra Armstrong Lifetime Achievement Award by Investment News.
- 2015 – She was named one of the “35 for 35” by Investment Advisor, honouring leaders who have influenced the financial services industry for the past 35 years. In the same year, Deena received the “Women to Watch” Award from Investment Advisor.
- 2014 – She received the “Iconoclast Award” given by Bob Veres’ Insider’s Forum.
She was the first woman member of Rotary/One, Chicago, as well as the first woman to serve as a director of the United States Rotary Club.
