Maarten Boddeus offers a broad range of experience on the edge of business and IT. He is seasoned in the implementation of financial planning solutions, but also a digital adept. Maarten is at the coal face of implementing robo-advice and other forms of digital services. He’ll be a sparring partner on design and implementation aspects, where complex processes must be brought to a digital, direct to consumer offering. Exploring the area of presenting complex matters in a simple way is one of his interests. He has also a keen interest in everything that is labelled as FinTech or innovation.
Maarten was born and raised in the Netherlands, where he completed a Master in Technology Management in 2005. After that, he worked as a business consultant for 10 years in the Dutch financial services industry. During these Dutch years, he was actively involved in the second wave of digitalisation of banking, witnessing and participating in the implementation of Retail Distribution Review (RDR) and Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) legislation. After becoming an implementation expert on financial planning software; Maarten moved with his family to South Africa to market and implement a financial planning platform. In July 2016, he joined Objectway, which is an international wealth management software supplier. Maarten is currently heading up their local office as the business development director for South Africa. He has published articles, takes part on panels and speaks occasionally on subjects related to financial planning and digital client interaction and FinTech.
In his private life, Maarten is married and a proud dad of two sons and a daughter. He still enjoys exploring the beauty of South Africa, likes to cycle, swim or run.
