Phil Billingham, CFP® joined the financial services profession in 1982, and has worked as an advisor, manager, trainer, planner and consultant since then.
He is a past director of the Institute of Financial Planning (IFP) and the Society of Financial Advisers (SOFA), and is a past member of Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB) Regulatory Advisory Panel.
He is a specialist in helping advisors cope with regulatory change, and to this end he has spoken at conferences and events, and worked with advisors, planners and regulators in the UK, Ireland, Monaco, Portugal, Hungary, Bulgaria, Malta, Gibraltar, Mauritius, France, the USA, Canada, South Africa and Australia.
Phil is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII), a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®/CFP®, a Chartered Wealth Manager and a Chartered Financial Planner.
He has been an expert witness since 2006, and has contributed to cases in both the English and Scottish High Courts.
Phil has been a frequent contributor to the professional press, and Professional Advisor Magazine listed him amongst the ‘Top 50 Influential Advisors’ in 2005 and 2011
Together with his wife, Shannon Currie, he is a director and practicing financial planner at Perceptive Planning. He specializes in multi jurisdiction clients and pension transfer work.
Outside of work, his hobbies are walking a large black dog called Ebony, red wine, traveling and Welsh Rugby.
